Experience

I have fifteen years of teaching experience.  I have taught classes at Extraordinary Education for two years.  I have taught Storybook Explorers, Lab Rats, Kids Theater, and Chapel.

Qualifications

My background is in early childhood education, having taught Pre-K and Kindergarten at two different accredited church schools.  I  ran my own curriculum based, licensed daycare for several years as well as helped to teach a  Babysitter Safety course at one of The Woodlands Fire Departments.  As my oldest child approached Kindergarten age,  I found my path in education steering me away from public school, so we decided to homeschool our oldest child.  She has since graduated from high school, and I continue to homeschool her little brothers who are in elementary grades.  Both are very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  Since Dad is an assistant scout leader for each troop, I try to help where I can.   I also volunteer teaching at church as well in Sunday School, AWANA clubs, Choir and VBS.

Fun Fact(s)

My children have been raised by wolves...literally.  Our family pet, "Samson"  is a Malamute/Wolf Hybrid.  My house is often wild kingdom as we have been known to take in wounded squirrels as pets as well on more than one occasion.

Background

I believe God has given me a gift of creativity and I enjoy hobbies such as: cake decorating, holiday planning, interior design, furniture refurbishing, DIY projects, gardening/landscaping, painting, photography, etc. I absolutely love children's literature. I enjoy classic children's books so much, I help my kids write their own books and they have placed in the PBS Young Writers and Illustrators Contest 4 times. I am also currently working on my own children's series. I do enjoy a good grown up book that stirs your emotions too and my favorite movies are usually fantasy. My family loves a road trip and being in Scouts there is a lot of camping. My testimony is, that I overcame a difficult childhood and found my Lord and Savior on my own and was saved at 12 years old. Although there were still many hardships and tragedy still ahead, Jesus has seen me through it all, never leaving my side and by His Grace, I have been married to my sweet husband (EE's "resident handyman") for 24 years and have 3 wonderful children and one stubborn but lovable dog. Through my journey God has shown me how every person matters to Him, instilling in me a tenderness for those most overlooked. I strive to live every day with the utmost gratitude to Him, for a life I don't deserve.
