Fun Fact(s)

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.  My dad was in the Navy, stationed at Pearl Harbor.

Background

I was born on Halloween. I'm married to Joe Peoples, a retired police officer.  We have 2 kids, Nick and Katie, whom we homeschooled.  Both attended EE in their junior high and high school years.  Nick has earned his Master's Degree in Global Health from Duke University in Kunshan, China and will soon begin medical school.  Katie is graduate of Harding University with a degree in interior design.
Growing up, my family went on vacation every summer to a different national park in the United States. I have been to the Smokey Mountains, Big Bend, Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountains, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Sequoia, Freedom Trail in Massachusetts, Grand Canyon (hiked down to the bottom and spent the night),  Mount Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Sierra Nevada Mountains, just to name a few!  In 2017, I traveled to Spain for 2 weeks with a group from EE.  All of this has given me a love of geography.
I did not have very good math teachers in junior high, and I disliked math.  I did have a great teacher in high school and eventually made an A in College Algebra.  I think that that is why I love teaching the junior high age in math - to help them learn that math can be fun, and you can succeed!
I grew up in a Christian family, accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the age of 12.
