Teaching

Experience

I have been teaching about 15 writing classes per week for the last 5 years.

I was a licensed director for a local homeschool community for 6 years.  I also was an instructor for 2 years before directing.

I have judged over 500 speeches, and I have coached speech events for over 10 years.  One of my students was ranked #1 in the nation in two different speech events.

If I can teach you to use every part of speech excellently, you can put the right words together.  If I can teach you how to put the right words together and into the right sentence structure to add variety,  an amazing sentence will emerge.  If I can teach you to master sentence structures, we can put together a well ordered paragraph, and then you can write 100 outstanding paragraphs!

I worked for the U.S. Army and the Department of the Navy before becoming a homeschool educator.  I love learning about “bio-hacking” and alternative health practices!  My favorite Bible study is Bible Study Fellowship, which I began in 1989.

Background

I began teaching in my teen years (VBS, Swimming lessons, etc.) and have taught in some capacity (Public School, Private School, Homeschools, Corporate settings, various businesses that I've owned, Community Colleges, Texas A& M, seminars, for the US Navy and Marines, etc.) ever since then.  I have lived in several countries outside of the USA as well as have traveled extensively (and taken many, many people with me!).  I believe that one of my missions in this life is to expose others to different cultures around the world so that we can all experience firsthand the fact that people, in general, have more in common with each other than they do differences.  I believe that understanding this will help us all move one step closer to the peace, love, and connection that God desires for us all.
